New news item

You can set starting and ending dates for a news item, and create a headline of your choice.

The pre-set time can be used to determine when the news item will be published, allowing you to enter, for example, an upcoming piece on an appointment well in advance.

Add a news item to your site by choosing the "Site Management" tab on the top of the page. Choose the "New News Item" link, and a News Editor Page will open up.

Enter a headline for the news item and determine the starting and ending dates if you wish. The publication date defines when the news item appears and -- if necessary -- disappears from the site.

The "Floating News Item" feature keeps the item you entered as the first piece until you decide to stop the floating. This helps important news items stay on the top of the list even if more recent news is added.

You can choose a small picture to represent the news item. This will be featured in the news listing on the front page. Remember to check the news application after you have uploaded the picture to make sure everything looks good. If the picture is too large, it may not appear on the site as you intended.

Enter the news content in the text field. You can also add pictures, links and tables and use different styles. For more information on using the text editor, go to "Using the text editor and editing the pictures."

! Note! You may paste text you have created with a word processor by using the clipboard. You must paste the text using the "Word" function of the text editor, or it will -- among other things -- remove the Word formatting that is not compatible with online use. You can find the Word function in the text editor tool box (W icon).

Settings

The settings pane

The web site administrators can edit the features from the settings. The settings allow you to use the News feature exactly as you wish, or to hide the feature from the website altogether.

You can find the News feature settings by clicking on the "News" feature on the "Site management" tab on the page header. A News feature tab appears, and you can choose the "Settings" tab from the column on the left.

The settings page allows you to determine the headline for the news column, the number of news items to be displayed on the front page, and if the news item features only the headline or if the first few lines of the news are included. The News settings are under constant improvement, making this feature even more versatile.

The default News settings are perfect for most needs. You can adjust and test the different settings to match your requirements. This will increase the individual character of your site and help meet your personal needs.
