Photo Album

The Photo Album is a simple way to share your pictures with friends, family, or clients. The album is easy to use and allows you to move several pictures at a time and enter tags and keywords. You can also permit viewers to leave comments and reviews.

The Photo Album feature is listed on the top "Site Management" tab of the Management Pages.

You can create new photo albums of your choice with just a click on the "New Photo Album" button. Give the album a name and Moogo will automatically pick out an address for the photo album. You can edit this address, but it should not contain any special characters. With the address, the album is easy to locate; for example, www.myteam.com/album/gamepics. You can also use a few words to describe the album.

If you want the photo album to be password-protected, check the "Password-Protected Album" box and type the password of your choice in the field. This will automatically protect all the sub-albums with the same password.

You can add an unlimited number of sub-albums to each album. With the albums, the pictures are always clearly organized. You can also move pictures from one album to another.

You create more sub-albums by clicking on the album in which you want to place a new sub-album, and selecting the "New Sub-Album" button.

On each album page you can view the pictures uploaded to the album. The photos are in the order they were uploaded. You can edit the picture information by clicking on the photo. You can also view all the picture details on the Photo Data page: the name, technical data, keywords and picture sizes. By clicking the "Edit Picture Information" button, you can edit the name and the keywords, and enter a photo caption.

Picture uploads

Choose the "Upload Pictures" link on the left-hand side of the Photo Album Management page. From here, you can upload several photos to an album of your choice. First, create your photo albums from the "Photo Album" page.

Click on the "Browse" button and find the photo file you would like to upload. The most useful file formats for online applications are JPG, GIF and PNG.

If you want to upload more than three photos at a time, click on the "New File Field" button, and the program will add new picture fields to the site.

The next step is choosing the photo album where you would like to upload your photos.

You can set shared keywords for all the pictures you are uploading. You can also assign keywords to single pictures at a later time. For more information on keywords, read the "Keywords" section below.

Editing the Order of Your Photos

Changing the order of your photos is easy. First, go to the photo album you would like to edit. You can edit the order of the photos by clicking on the photo with the left mouse button, and while holding the button down, drag the photo to the selected spot. The photo will then move to the selected spot. After editing the order of the pictures, save the changes with the "Save the Photo Order" button at the bottom of the page.

Moving photos from one album to another

You can move pictures from one album to another. Choose the pictures you want to move by checking the Photo box. Next, click on the "Move Selected Photos to an Album" button and you can choose the album where you want to move the pictures from the drop-down menu. The pictures are transferred to the selected album after you click on the "Move" button.

You can also delete several pictures simultaneously by checking the boxes of all the photos you want to delete and then clicking the "Delete Selected Pictures" button. Please note that photos you delete are permanently deleted from the photo album.

Rotating Pictures

You can also rotate your pictures. Choose the pictures you want to rotate by checking the Photo box. After checking the box(es), click on the "Rotate Selected Pictures" button; you can choose to rotate the pictures to the left or to the right. The program rotates all the selected pictures.

Technical data

Technical data consists of the EXIF data stored internally in the picture. The camera stores this data automatically when you take the picture. The image file contains various data, and the Moogo photo album automatically displays the most important information. Technical data include such details as the date and time the picture was taken and the image resolution.

Keywords

Keywords should briefly explain photo contents. For instance, if you upload pictures from your summer vacation in Florida, you could have the keywords "vacation, Florida, summer." Each keyword contains a link, and clicking the link lists all the pictures that feature the same keyword in all of the users photo albums. This makes it amazingly easy to find all the pictures taken in Florida or that feature the same person. When you are uploading your pictures, you can give all the pictures the same keywords, but you can also set picture-specific keywords by clicking on the picture.

Picture sizes

Moogo can save uploaded pictures in four different sizes.

The Preview Picture is small (100x75 pixels) and is used for previewing the pictures in an album.

The Small Picture (240x180 pixels) is perfect for use as illustration material on a website. These pictures are really great for news, events or, for example, game stories.

The Large Picture (640x480 pixels) is the default size for a user who clicks on the Preview Photo icon while viewing a photo album.

The original photo is also saved in the photo album and not edited in any way.

Settings

You can edit the photo album with the Settings, found on the left-hand side of the Photo Album Management page.

Picture rating

You can choose whether you want to allow viewers to rate your pictures. If ratings are turned on, viewers of your photos can rate the pictures on a scale of 1-5 stars.

Picture comments

If picture comments are allowed, viewers can add their own comments to your photos. Comments are added below the pictures and can be deleted on the Site Management page, if needed.

Photo viewing rates

Moogo records every time a photo album is viewed. If you choose, you can allow the display of the viewing rates with the pictures.

Image technical data (EXIF)

When you take a picture with a digital camera, a huge amount of various technical data is stored in the image file. Moogo displays the most important data, such as the date and time the picture was taken and the camera model that was used. If you do not want these technical data to be displayed in the photo album, you can hide it in the settings.

Picture features

You can feature the most recent pictures added to a photo album on your website, or choose to have a random picture selected automatically from the photo album. You can place the photo feature on your website in the left or right column.

You can also change the order and location of the content blocks. More details on moving the content blocks can be found under the "Page Layout and Structure" guidelines.

You can also choose to display the photo album in a new window or in the content block of your website layout.
