Frequently Asked Questions about Visitor Statistics

Q: Do the number of visits indicated by the Visitor Statistics come from different visitors, or do they include several visits by the same people?

A: The visitor rates in Visitor Statistics are total numbers that include the people who have paid several visits to the web site.

Q: What does 'page loads' mean?

A: 'Page loads' can refer to a situation when a visitor comes to your site and loads several sub-pages.  The page load amount is increased with every page load.

Q: Sometimes I see huge peaks in the number of visitors to my site.  What could be the reason for this?

A: One explanation for the peak might be visits by search robots making automatic visits to sites and searching for information (for example, e-mail addresses).  Search engines also check for changes on web sites on a regular basis to save the data in their databases.

Most of the robots get filtered out of the Moogo Visitor Statistics, but filtering them out entirely is unfortunately not possible.  This means that sometimes you may see unexpected peaks in the number of visitors.  These peaks do not cause any kind of interference or threat to the function of your site.

However, there may be other explanations for visitor peaks.  If your web site becomes part of the link directory of a popular online service, this might bring a large number of real visitors to your site.

You can view your visitor statistics in more detail with the "Complete Visitor Statistics" feature.
