Moogo changes its business model - no more Freemium, and further improvements to its service offering

Monday 9/20/10 time 4:03 AM - Helena @Moogo

During the last two years Moogo has been providing a valuable service for thousands of people to quickly and simply create their very own professional websites. Devoted to the vision of making websites simple for everyone, Moogo’s hard working team has been developing the service accordingly. This has been achieved by acting on the feedback and wishes from existing Moogo users, whilst preserving the original vision for Moogo by its owners. Now it is time to take the next step in Moogo’s development.

Most of Moogo’s paying customers are small businesses and organizations that have a need to create a professional website in an easy and cost-effective manner. Due to a large demand for business targeted development and to be able to provide an even better service to our business customers, Moogo has decided to make the following changes to Moogo’s services.

As of September 15, 2010,

  • It will no longer be possible to create a free website with Moogo. This is to ensure that 100% of our attention goes to support all of the businesses and other customers that use Moogo daily, to create their presence online with our paid service. Thereby, we want to tailor and optimise the website builder to its fullest potential in serving these customers.
  • We have changed the way our customers can purchase the service. From now on, Moogo customers pay only for the features that they need and nothing more! In the case that existing customers may currently have more features available to their website, than a new Moogo customer will be presented with, existing customers need not worry, we are not going to remove any of their existing features.  This means Moogo’s existing paying customers can continue using their website like they have previously done, with all existing features active and available for their use.

  • With these changes we expect to deliver the following improvements:

    • Ensure a professional product at all times to all of our customers
    • Deliver a more tailored service to all of our customers
    • Offer a cost-effective solution that every business and organization can afford

What is going to happen to Moogo Free package users?

As Moogo will no longer offer a Free package, we unfortunately are not able to serve our existing Free package customers any longer. Therefore we will offer existing Free package customers the option to either upgrade their website to a paid service package or to copy the entire content of their websites to an alternative service by 15th October 2010.

We have created helpful and clear instructions on how to copy existing Free Moogo website content for those users who wish to leave Moogo. If there is further help and assistance needed, our Helpdesk is available at helpdesk@moogo.com.

We would like to thank all Moogo customers for their continued support and feedback and we expect these change will allow us to serve you even better!
