Moogo office in 2009

Thursday 12/31/09 time 7:48 AM - Helena @Moogo

For Moogo the year 2009 has definitely been the year of growth. The number of employees, as well as the office space, more than doubled. And... we're also happy to say that there were 400% more websites opened with Moogo this year every month than last year.

As our office is naturally the central point for all of us to make Moogo happen and have fun along the way, we have put together a collection of some of the nicest, funniest and perhaps also a bit ackward memories from the office.

SEO: Pay or Nay

Monday 12/28/09 - Heikki @Moogo

shutterstock_36240220.jpgWe've come across the positive and the negative when it comes down to hiring someone to do SEO for you, or being the self-employed SEO do-it-yourself-man. But let's be frank, the brass tacks on the matter are: whether or not you should pay for SEO is dependent on what your situation is and what your goals are.

Ho ho ho!

Wednesday 12/23/09 time 5:18 AM - Helena @Moogo

merryxmas09.jpgOver the past month Moogo's office has been filled with more and more Christmas spirit. Also the weather man has started cooperating with us by bringing loads of snow (and in many cases also slippery roads and sneezing colleagues, but you can't win it all, can you?) In other words - we are ready for the holidays!

We want to thank all Moogo users for being together with us this year and giving us many nice memories to take along to the next year.

See you in the clouds!

Tuesday 12/22/09 time 10:11 AM - Helena @Moogo

Have never heard of cloud computing? Alright, can you imagine that you don't have to worry if there's enough space on the servers for your website, if your documents get lost or who takes care of the maintenance of all of that? Ultimately, this is what cloud computing gives you.

In short - "cloud" is used as a synonym for the "Internet" and "cloud computing" means that you are able to have all your computing activities on the Internet without installing any software or program.

Social Media in 2010

Monday 12/21/09 - Heikki @Moogo

shutterstock_35609119.jpgAccording to Nielsen Online, over two-thirds (67%) of the online populace now frequent social networks and blogs. After search, portals and PC software, participation on these communities has become the fourth most popular category on the web. And here's something not-so-shocking to add: it's growing twice as fast as its counterparts and three times quicker than the Internet overall. With the changes brought about in 2009 – Facebook continuing to out space MySpace, Twitter's staggering 1,382% growth – the question is: what might social media look like in 2010?

Trust Sells, But How To Get It?

Thursday 12/17/09 time 10:09 AM - Sjoerd @Moogo

trust.jpgIn ye olde days, businesses could easily get away with lying about the lowest price, or the best product. In fact, since there was no easy way to check whether it was true, the lie was almost accepted by consumers.

This all changed when ecommerce took off and price comparison sites appeared. Pretty soon an extensive price comparison was only a click away with websites like PriceGrabber.com. It forced business to be honest and transparent about their product's pricing and quality.

Presenting...our new Organization package!

Monday 12/14/09 - Sjoerd @Moogo

We are extremely proud and happy to present the newest addition to our service: the Organization package!

Until now, a Moogo user could choose between two high quality low-cost packages: Business, and Personal. And although they both provide a high quality service for a low fee, there was always a group of users that didn't exactly fit into either package.
They needed more features than the Personal package provides, but didn't need all the features that come with the Business package.

Images, Copyright And the Internet

Wednesday 12/9/09 time 10:49 AM - Sjoerd @Moogo

Let me start off this post by repeating the motto "content is king!" Your site can look great and flashy, but if visitors can't find the information they need, they will leave immediately and no animated interactive flash banner is going to stop them. Having said this, and trusting that you have done the best you can in providing content for your website, let's talk about layout, and more specifically, images.

Website Design Do's And Dont's

Tuesday 12/8/09 - Heikki @Moogo

designdos2.jpgThis blog post is more-or-less a continuation or in some cases a more in-depth follow up to the post 5 Tips on How Not to Scare Your Customer

Here you can find some fairly basic, but essential tips when it comes to designing your web page.
